Illegal Dumping Disposing of grass clippings, shrubs, and household goods on public or private lands is ILLEGAL. Violators may be subject to a $1,000 fine and/or six months in jail. The Washoe County Health District, U.S. Forest Service, Sheriff's Department, and Bureau of Land Management conduct routine surveillances to apprehend any illegal dumpers.
